Important: Beginning with version 10.4.7, you will no longer be allowed to upgrade if your license is not current. If you see an error message, please contact support at https://trustedcare.entrust.com.

If your Cryptographic Security Platform Vault nodes are running version 10.4.3 or later, you can upgrade the entire cluster from any node in the cluster using the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault Management webGUI. Cryptographic Security Platform Vault automatically applies the upgrade to all nodes in the cluster sequentially so that the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault cluster remains available for key requests from the registered VMs throughout the entire upgrade process.

You can only upgrade between successive versions. Supported upgrade paths are:

Important: You must upgrade the Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager before you upgrade Cryptographic Security Platform Vault.

You can upgrade from Cryptographic Security Platform Vault 5.5.1 to 10.6.1. To do so, you upgrade from 5.5.1 to 10.0, then upgrade from 10.0 to 10.1.1, then from 10.1.1 to 10.2, then from 10.2 to 10.3.1, then to 10.4.1, 10.4.1.1, or 10.4.3, and then to 10.6.1.

For details on upgrading earlier versions, please see the version of the documentation that you are upgrading to. For example, if you need to upgrade from 5.5.1 to 10.0, see the KeyControl 10.0 documentation.

Note: Because the OS for Cryptographic Security Platform Vault was changed in 10.4.1, if you upgrade from 10.3.3 or earlier, the process is a migration method rather than the standard upgrade procedure. Please be sure to review the Installation and Upgrade Guide for 10.4.3 before you start the upgrade. We recommend that you migrate to version 10.4.3 and then upgrade directly to 10.6.1.
