See below for instructions on recovering a crashed PKI DB Appliance cluster node.
To recover a PKI DB Appliance cluster node
Open a web browser in the URL obtained when Running PKI DB Appliance.
Do not omit the "https" prefix of the URL.
- Navigate to Cluster > Servers.
- Wait while the PKI DB Appliance watchdog removes the crashed node from the Servers list.
If the crashed node is the writer node, the watchdog will assign this role to an alive reader node.
- If the user interface of the crashed node is accessible:
- Log in to the user interface
- Go to Cluster > Servers
- Remove the other nodes as explained in Removing a PKI DB Appliance node.
- Decommission the node as explained in System decommission.
- Follow the steps in Creating a PKI DB Appliance cluster to add a new node so the cluster will include the initial number of nodes.
- Run the clusterctl database set appliance command to update the node information on PKI Hub.
Running this command will automatically redeploy the PKI DB Appliance watchdog.
